    Market Commentary - Pre Session

    Domestic bourses are expected to start the day on a positive note on Monday as indicated by the SGX Nifty, after similar trends in most Asian indices.

    However, concerns over rising coronavirus cases as well as tensions between US-China and India-China remain key risks for the equity markets. India overtook Russia to now become the world's number three in coronavirus case count with nearly 25,000 new cases added on Sunday, according to Worldometer.

    A total of 35 companies including NBCC are scheduled to announce their March quarter results today.

    On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 36021.42 up by 177.72 points or by 0.5 % and then NSE Nifty was at 10607.35 up by 55.65 points or by 0.53 %.

    On the global front, Asian shares held near four-month highs on Monday. Japan's Nikkei gained 1.2 per cent while Hong Kong's markets were last up 1.5 per cent. South Korea's Kospi also rose 1 per cent. Overall, MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan inched up 0.05%, having hit its highest since February.

Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 696954 with a total turnover of Rs. 46671.64 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 11296285 with a total turnover of Rs. 668992.53 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 705911 with a total turnover of Rs. 50532.39 Crore.

    The FIIs on 03/07/2020 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 4015.82 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 919.12 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 4347.07 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 1041.97 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -331.25 Crore and Rs. -122.85
