Headline : Sensex up 130 points; RVNL shares jump 15%

The domestic benchmark indices have continued their positive bias since morning. The shares of Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) surged as much as 15 per cent in Monday's session. The company is engaged in building railway projects, including setting up and doubling of new lines, gauge conversion, railway electrification, metro projects, workshops, major bridges, construction of cable-stayed bridges and institution buildings. Of them, activities such as laying of new lines and provisioning additional lines along existing tracks together bring in 75 per cent of the company’s revenues.

At 1:23 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 38896.95 up by 129.84 points or by 0.33 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11688.95 up by 45.5 points or by 0.39 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 38921.21 and intraday low of 38780.08 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11693.3 and intraday low of 11648.25.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 109.95,+6.23%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 228.60,+5.91%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 250.30,+4.38%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2079.25,+3.25%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 550.40,+3.12%), among others. The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 729.35,-2.47%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 460.70,-0.78%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 156.80,-0.63%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1337.05,-0.37%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 267.05,-0.30%), among others.

Among sectors, Metal index was at 11743.17 up by 275.84 points or by 2.41%. Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 250.30,+4.38%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 58.85,+3.25%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 550.40,+3.12%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 185.80,+2.45%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 292.60,+2.13%),. On the flip side, HCS index was at 14481.27 down by -0.63 points or by 0%. Poly Medicure Ltd. (Rs. 205.60,-2.74%), Mangalam Drugs and Organics Ltd. (Rs. 55.60,-2.37%), SMS Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Rs. 62.05,-1.90%), Biocon Ltd. (Rs. 621.60,-1.14%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Rs. 644.45,-0.94%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2690 , shares advanced were 1509 while 991 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.
